The management of St. Charles Lwanga group of schools Okpoko, the Parents and Guardians of the students and pupils of the schools have rained accolades on Archbishop of Onitsha, His grace, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Maduka Okeke over his unflinching support to schools, which they noted enhanced the running of the education institutions. This was contained in the address the Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Joshua Obiekezie read during the silver jubilee celebration of the schools at the weekend.
Rev. Fr. Obiekezie who highlighted the excellent academic performances of the students and pupils of the school at external examinations disclosed the research he was making in China and other outside countries educational curricular that would enable his students acquire vocational skills before completion of their academic pursuit at st Charles Lwanga group of schools Okpoko . He commended the Archbishop who was represented by his chancellor, Rev. Fr. Dr prudentius Emeka Aroh for attending the school’s 25 years anniversary celebration. He was also grateful for the support the schools were getting from the manager of the schools, Monsignor Theo Odukwe.
Fr Obiekezie listed the challenges the schools were facing to include; expansion of the schools for increased enrolment of students and pupils, renovation of the dilapidated buildings to reflect the image of the standard of the educational institutions, procurement of modern laboratory equipment, modern computers to meet the demand of the training of the children in this fast developing world of computer age, as well as boarding facilities amongst others.
Highpoint of the occasion was the award of honor given to some distinguished Nigerians by the school management. Among the recipients of the award was high chief Sir Ude Udemba, one of the community leaders in Okpoko.
