The Associate Rector,Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha,Rev Fr Emmanuel Nwabufo has urged members of Christ the King Catholic community,Ward B,GRA,Onitsha,to remember the poor and spread joy during the Christmas season.
Rev Fr Nwabufo who is also the chaplain of the Ward,was speaking at the end of year get-together organised by the Catholic community on Monday,December 2nd 2024.
According to Fr Nwabufo,the spirit and essence of Christmas would not be complete if the less privileged are not factored into the budget of the rich while celebrating Christmas.
Fr Nwabufo commended members of the Christ the King Catholic community GRA Ward B,for organising the end of year get together pointing out that the community was one of the best organised Catholic communities in the Basilica Parish.
At the ocassion,Fr Nwabufo supervised election of a new CMO chairman where Mr Herbert Mbagwu emerged as the new chairman of CMO in the community.
A senior member of the community,Sir Azubike Okafor,commended members of the community for their overwhelming support for the newly elected CMO chairman and also for success of the end of year get-together.
Also,the CWO President,Christ the King Ward,Lady Stella Okafor expressed appreciation to the CWO members of the Ward for their overwhelming support for the end of year get-together.
Earlier,a lecture on the causes and prevention of hypertension and diabetes was delivered by Mrs Ezebilie Christy.
Some prominent members of the community present on the ocassion are,Sir Engr Ikem Osanakpo,Sir John Olibie,Sir Dr Raphael Omaliko and Chief Jude Anyikwa.
Others are,Sir Okey Tabansi,Chief Emma Eziokwu,Lady Beatrice Madueke,Lady Nonye Osanakpo,Prince Ik Okonkwo among others.
Highlight on the ocassion are,drama sketch and cultural dance by Block Rosary children.
