The immediate past TC Chairman of Ekwusigo LGA, Anambra State, Hon. Austin Enendu, has praised the Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, for transforming the youth through the newly established Shanahan University.
Speaking to a Trinitas correspondent during a religious function at Eziowelle town, Hon. Enendu described the prelate as a living saint who is passionate about Youth transformation, adding that he is investing heavily in youth training and formation.
According to him, the Archbishop’s goal is to build a better nation where well-trained graduates with sound morals and high vision can take leadership roles and create an egalitarian society.
Hon. Enendu lauded the Archbishop for awarding scholarships to all pioneer students of Shanahan University and his readiness to grant more scholarships to incoming students for the 2025/2026 academic session. He described this gesture as unprecedented in Nigerian and African academic history.
The former TC Chairman noted that the Archbishop is building a legacy that will stand the test of time, describing him as a rare gift to the mother church and the society. He added that Archbishop Okeke’s transformative episcopacy has taken the great Archdiocese to an unprecedented height.
“We will continue to thank God that Archbishop’s leadership is happening in our own time, and we are all beneficiaries of God’s love to humanity through him,” Hon. Enendu said. He charged other leaders in the church and government to emulate Archbishop Okeke’s transformative leadership, which Nigeria needs now.
