The director of the Learning Field International School, Onitsha , Mr Kenechukwu M. Nsofor today enjoined Anambra State government led by Prof Chukwuma Soludo to tackle multiple taxation in the private school sector.
Mr Nsofor made the plea while speaking to news men during the inter house sports competition staged by his school at the Basilica square Onitsha.
According to him, multiple taxation is a challenge to the existence of private schools in the state. He also charged the government to encourage private schools by giving incentives to the teachers so that they will continue to give in their best.
“Private schools are doing wonderfully well to augment what the government owned schools are doing in the area of impacting sound education and morals on the pupils and students”
Speaking on the inter house sports competition, the director posited that the sporting event gives the school the opportunity to harvest students who are talented in different athletes so that they can be assisted in developing such talents. He asserts: “From the sporting activities so far, we have observed so many students endowed with different sporting talents and it is our duty to assist in developing them and by God’s grace, we may have people like Kanu Nkwankwo, Okocha and the likes.”
Noting that his school is excelling academically, morally and otherwise, he disclosed that the management is constantly putting high level of commitment, hard work and dexterity that has contributed in pushing the school to an enviable height. “Over the years we have employed finest hands in polishing the school vision and bringing it into fruition and we are happy that we are succeeding.” The director further disclosed that Learning Field has garnered a lot of laurels from recent academic competitions including Anambra North Senatorial science competition, spelling competition held at state level, and so on.
Parents who spoke to the press, poured encomiums on the school management, testifying that the quality education the school is imparting reflects on their children’s academic performances. Hence, they urged the school to sustain the tempo.
