The Chief Shepherd of Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025, urged Christians to resurrect with Christ by transforming their lives. The prelate gave this advice while delivering a homily during his visit to the Onitsha Correctional Center, where he celebrated Easter with inmates.
According to him, it is essential to enter a new platform where one can encounter Jesus by transforming one’s life in order to receive the power of resurrection. “Once you receive the power of resurrection, you will become indestructible, as divine power will accompany you all the time, and God’s blessing will always be your portion,” he said.
As Christians, it is our responsibility to radiate God’s love because the love of God is shining in us. The Easter celebration encourages us to live the life of Jesus by sharing love, being compassionate, and forgiving others.
He further enjoined the inmates to hold tenaciously to Jesus, who has the absolute power to set them free.
