Pope Francis has appointed Reverend Fr. Roberto Pasolini, O.F.M. Cap., a scholar in biblical exegesis at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Northern Italy, Milan, as the new preacher of the Papal Household.
Born on November 5, 1971, in Milan, Italy, Fr. Pasolini made his perpetual vows with the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor Capuchin on September 7, 2002, and was ordained a priest on September 23, 2006. He holds a doctorate in biblical theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He has served as a lecturer in biblical languages and sacred scripture at the Laurentianum Interprovincial Theological Studium of the Friars Minor Capuchin in Milan and Venice.
Currently, Fr. Pasolini teaches biblical exegesis at the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Northern Italy. He also collaborates with the Archdiocese of Milan in training religion teachers and works with the Italian Conference of Major Superiors. A prolific author of articles and books on biblical spirituality, Fr. Pasolini is dedicated to retreat preaching and leading spiritual exercises.
