Executive members of the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO)Onitsha Province on Saturday paid a courtesy call on the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha,Most Rev Valerian Okeke.
They were led on the visit by the Onitsha Provincial chaplain of the CMO,Rev Fr Aloysius Ikekwe.
Speaking through their chaplain,Rev Fr Ikekwe,the entire members commended the Archbishop for his commitment towards inauguration of Shanahan University,Onitsha and the swift take off of academic studies in the institution.
They also congratulated him on his 71st birthday and wished him many more fruitful years in the service of God and humanity.
The Archbishop was also briefed on the recently concluded Onitsha Provincial CMO recently concluded provincial conference in Awka and also appealed to him to consider a permanent Secretariat for Onitsha Provincial CMO.
Receiving the visitors,the Archbishop commended them for their efforts in evangelisation and urged them to do more in making activities of the CMO more visible.
The CMO members presented tokens of conference bags and papers delivered during the conference to the Archbishop before departure.
Some members of the delegation representing the various Dioceses in Onitsha Province include,the provincial president,Hon Casmir Izukanne(Onitsha),Hon Virus Uzoh(Ekwulobia),Prof Edward Aja Nwachukwu (Abakaliki) and Dr Paul Unegbu(Awka).
Others are,Chief Diyoke Romanus(Nsukka),HRH Igwe John Uwuno(Aguleri)Mr Tobias Onwumerechi(Awgu)and Mr Emeka Onu(Enugu).
The President General of CMO, Archdiocese of Onitsha Sir Evarist Uba was among those conferred with honorary award at the conference.
