The entire Onitsha indigenous community was during the week thrown into mourning as the death of one of it’s illustrious sons and renowned medical doctor,Orimili Clement Okafor was announced.
Dr Okafor was the proprietor of Niger City Hospital Odoakpu,Onitsha.
The news of his death which spread like wildfire was not believed by many initially until it was confirmed by his family.
A family source said Dr Okafor was struck by an undisclosed illness several months ago and had battled the illness which eventually took his life.
Dr Okafor was a socialite and a popular alumnus of Christ the King College (CKC),Onitsha.
He was also popular among the prestigious Ozo title (Agbalanze) association,Onitsha.
He died in his early 70s.
