The TC chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Hon. Paschal Aniegbunam, last Sunday disclosed that his local government area was bouncing back to its former glory after a devastating flood that destroyed infrastructure and cash crops in the area.
He extolled the governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for coming to their rescue during the flood. “Immediately after the flooding, the governor assisted greatly to bring back the indigens to their homes and provided them with food materials to settle back.
“He has fumigated hospitals, other places to ensure that people are safe and comfortable after the flooding menace.
“To cushion the effect of the flooding, the governor has flagged off construction of three roads because the flood destroyed most of roads in Ogbaru,” he said.
The chairman described the governor as a man of his word, adding that Anambrarians will have good reasons to thank God for his one year in office coming up next month.
“From the outset, especially during his campaign, he made it clear that serious attention would be given to some local government areas like Ogbaru, Anambra West, etc., and shortly after his inauguration he was at Odekpe to see things for himself. In September 2022, he came to Ogbaru again to flag off nine roads. Last we week, he was at Anambra West to flag off construction of more roads. He is currently constructing two hundred and sixty one kilometres of roads in 21 local government areas of the state. Recently he employed five thousand teachers on merit. He has also embarked on ‘one youth, two skills’ to get over five thousand youth out of the streets. In other words, in two years, the people of the state will testify that they have gotten a committed governor who is sincerely transforming the state,” Aniegbunam said, urging the people of the state to give him maximum support.
