Thr parish priest and parishioners of St Mary’s Catholic church Ochuche Umuodi penultimate Sunday poured encomiums on the Chief Shepherd of Onitsha Archdiocese His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke for coming to their rescue when their church under construction collapsed few years ago.
The parish priest Fr Zikora who spoke to Trinitas correspondent during pastoral visit of the Archbishop to his parish described the prelate as as a charitable chief Shepherd who is ensuring that faithful in the Archdiocese have befitting place of worship. He thanked the Archbishop for assisting at the their former church building under construction collapsed, revealing that his encouragement and financial support boosted their moral in erecting a new church now nearing completion.
Also, the Vice chairman parish council Mr Boniface Uchechukwu Agha and the parish CMO chairman Prince Sabastine Obitube in their contribution extolled the Archbishop for showing them love at point of their need, adding that his encouragement, support and advice really motivated them to begin a new church project that is in advanced stage.
Futhermore, the parish CWO president Mrs Cecilia Ogbuedi and Iyom Briget Odua in their similar remarks described Archbishop as a compassionate and caring Chief Shepherd by every definition, recalling that during past flood disasters , he came to their rescue, and provided material and spiritual succour to them.
