In demonstration of his unwavering commitment to the development of critical sectors in Nigeria, former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has continued his nationwide tour, focusing on health, education, and poverty alleviation.
His latest stop during the week was at one of the Immaculate Heart Sisters health facilities located in Mmiata Anam, Anambra West LGA of Anambra State.
During his visit, Obi, accompanied by a former state commissioner,Prof. Stella Okunna, presented a cheque of N25 million to support the facility’s continuous upgrade.
This donation is in addition to the N75 million he donated to the IHM Health System’s Specialist Hospital in Nkpor last year.
Obi praised the Immaculate Heart Sisters for their remarkable work, particularly in rural areas like Mmiata-Anam, where their facility is the only hospital serving the community.
He emphasized the importance of investing in critical areas such as health, education, and poverty alleviation, stating that these investments are crucial for national growth and development.
The former governor expressed his commitment to replicating similar support for key institutions across the nation, thanking the proprietor, management, and staff of the facility for their dedication to providing quality healthcare services to poor communities.
He noted that his consistent support for such institutions is a testament to his belief in the importance of investing in the well-being of Nigerians.
Obi’s visit to the Immaculate Heart Sisters health facility is part of his broader efforts to engage with stakeholders and identify areas where interventions can be made to drive development.
His commitment to supporting critical sectors is driven by his conviction that a healthy, educated, and prosperous population is essential for Nigeria’s growth and competitiveness.
The former governor concluded by reiterating his vision for a new Nigeria, emphasizing that it is possible if everyone works towards it.
He called on Nigerians to join him in his quest to build a better future for the country, one that is driven by investments in critical sectors and a commitment to the well-being of all citizens.
