Residents of the Ideani community in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State will breathe fresh air when Hon. Uche Annie Okonkwo is elected into the National Assembly on Feb 25, 2023.
The transformative experience that would befall the Idemili Federal Constituency and its environs, according to him, has been couched into a well thought-out plan of five thematic areas.
Okonkwo, who disclosed this at the Oye Market Square at the heart of the community where he met the first set of voters in the community, said he articulated his agenda for their benefit, under four thematic areas. These include health care, education, security/crime reduction, and employment/job creation.
The Federal House of Representatives hopeful urged the citizens to troop out en masse on Feb 25 to vote massively for him and the Labour Party (LP), including the presidential flagbearer, Mr Peter Obi.
He promised that the scheme of things shall be business-as-usual if the LP takes over the rein of authority in the country.
Stressing that his party does not indulge in rhetorics, he reiterated that child/maternal health care would be a priority under the LP’s administration and leadership.
And in order to achieve these, Annie-Okonkwo stated, “we need a youth that is vibrant. That is the LP’s method. We don’t work with proxy. We don’t make empty promises.
“We visit you and deliver democracy dividend[s] direct to the beneficiaries. As for the youths, I will facilitate the employment of at least ten youth from each of our seventeen constituting communities, annually.”
He expressed excitement at what the situation would look like in all the 17 communities annually.
He got the crowd of enthusiastic party supporters, stakeholders and members excited when he baptised the party’s logo of papa, mama and pikin as being a “holy family”.
