Members of Catholic Women Organization ( CWO) Awada zone one, on Monday, August 21 celebrated the Queenship of the Blessed Mother Mary.
The event which attracted members from six parishes that made up the zone, witnessed spiritual activities including celebration of Holy Mass, reciting of twenty decades of rosary etc. Other entertaining activities on display are March past, cultural dance, drama etc.
The zonal organizer Mrs Ifeoma Onwugharam who spoke to Trinitas described the event as a yearly spiritual CWO activity that has assisted greatly in transforming the mothers and bringing them closer to our mother Mary and offering them opportunity to heave a sigh of relief from so many challenges, adding that so many women have gained various degree of favours each year after the programme. The organizer further described Virgin Mary as role model whose earthly life was characterized by humility, perseverance and compassion. She advised mothers not to relent in taking our mother Mary home through saying the rosary every day and living a holy life, adding that one of the best gifts they can offer their children is teaching them how to love God and how to embrace and hold our mother Mary tenaciously in every circumstance.
Also, the CWO president St John Paul, Iba Pope parish Awada Mrs Henrietta Ozigbo who also spoke to Trinitas said she was elated over this year celebration of Queenship of Mother Mary. She disclosed that there was minfestation of Mother Mary at the event, positing that mothers felt her spiritual presence during the programme. She advised fellow mothers to say their rosary as that is a powerful weapon to conquer the world. She also disclosed that her parish CWO empowered twenty five women with the sum of fifty thousand naira each
during the just concluded August meeting.
Meanwhile some mothers at the event testified about favours they received from God shortly after last year Queenship celebration.
One of the mothers testified how her brother was instantly released by kidnappers shortly after the last year celebration. She disclosed how she prayed and asked Mother Mary to intervene and intercede for the release of her brother during the programme and her prayers was answered immediately.
Also, another woman testified how she got first fruit of womb after eighteen years of marriage during the last year celebration. She presented twins( a boy and girl )at the programme testifying that Mother Mary wipped her tears at that year programme.
A mother that was diagnosed with breast cancer also testified how she received healing from God through the intercession of Blessed Mother Mary shortly after the last year programme.
