Awka-Etiti indigenes were in a jubilation mood, on Thursday December 19th, 2024 as they witnessed the culmination of the maiden edition of the Rosary Revival Program, a six-month initiative aimed at promoting devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, with particular focus on the Block Rosary Crusade.
The program, generously sponsored by Mr. Lucky Chinedu Adimike, an ilusterious son of the town, saw a total commitment of six million naira, disbursed at one million naira per month over the duration of the program. The funds were channeled towards enhancing devotion, organizing prayer sessions, and supporting the spiritual growth of participants across the community.
In his homily, the Parish priest of St Joseph’s parish Awka Etiti Fr Paul Ihebighi urged children and youth to hold tenaciously to Jesus and mother Mary at all times. He emphasized the need to recite the rosary everyday, advising Christians expecially Children not to toy with attending prayers at block Rosary centers as that will enrich their christian values.
Fr Ihebighi who later spoke to Trinitas Newspaper poured encomiums on Mr Lucky Adimike for the initiative and for sponsoring the six months rosary programme, testifying that it has united the children and the youth as one body in Christ and has revived block Rosary crusade in the town . He described Mr Adimike as a great philanthropist who is consistently giving back to the society.
Also, Fr Anthony Anojulu and Rev Sr. Obinna Okpalaugu who represented Awka Etiti Indigenous Priests and Religious Association praised Mr Lucky Adimike for his large heart, describing his sponsorship as uncommon apostolate.
Others indigenes of the town in their remarks rained accolades on Mr Adimike for spreading the gopel of Christ through his regular philanthropism , testifying that he is transforming lives .
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Adimike expressed his hope that the program would inspire others to undertake practical efforts to strengthen the Catholic faith in the region.
Trinitas Newspaper observed that the grand finale was a spiritually enriching event, drawing participants and dignitaries from within and beyond Awka-Etiti. It marked the climax of months of prayer, reflection, and communal devotion, leaving a legacy that organizers hope will inspire similar programs in the future.
This initiative underscores Mr. Adimike’s commitment to strengthening the faith and nurturing spiritual growth, a gesture that has earned him widespread admiration among the Catholic faithful.
Highlights of the event includes distribution for 23 wireless speakers to block Rosary centers in the the town as eight children from four Parishes in Awka Etiti got scholarships from Mr Lucky Adimike.
