A senior citizen, Chief Valentine Ikeanyiowu, last Sunday called on the executive governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to ignore critics and channel his attention to his desire to transform the state.
Chief Ikeanyionwu, who spoke to Trinitas during a religious function at Umunya, explained that it is needles for the governor to respond to every criticism, whether constructive or not, as that will lead to distraction in his adminstration.
He advised the governor to talk less and do more work as his adminstration runs, emphasising that it is only his accomplishments that can silence the critics and showcase him as a serious governor who has the interest of the state at heart.
“Right now, Governor Soludo should sustain the infrastructural development he has embarked on, such as road construction and tarring, provision of basic amenities the people of the state are yearning for.
“Also important,” he continued, “is the provision of security: the Anambra State government should hasten up to tighten security because there are indications that hoodlums are returning to the state to start causing mayhem as usual. In order words, Soludo’s administration must sustain the tempo in the area of providing adequate security of lives and property.”
The senior citizen also enjoined Anambrarians in the diaspora who are well off to come home and invest as that will greatly improve the economy of the state and generate jobs for the jobless youth in Anambra.
“Some of our brothers are very rich but hardly think home; rather, they go on displaying their affluence, bragging and making mouth, refusing to remember their poor brothers who need their assistance in order to become successful persons tomorrow,” he said.
