A group, Climate Action Africa (CMA), has called for collaboration among all stakeholders, to stem the impact of climate change in Africa.

The group in a statement released by its founders, Ms. Grace Oluchi and Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, and made available to journalists in Awka, September 30, said there was need for collaborative efforts to curb the growing challenges posed by climate change.

‘That is why we extend an open invitation to governments, organizations, and individuals, to join hands in the crucial task of climate action, especially in the areas of research, innovation development and support in the years to come.

‘Over the years, Climate Action Africa has made itself a pioneering force in transforming Africa’s resilience and driving sustainable socio-economic development.

‘We have produced and disseminated over 2,000 climate knowledge resources (including articles, reports, infographics, videos, and interactive tools) that are fostering awareness and understanding of climate issues and empowering individuals, communities, and policymakers with accurate and reliable information.

‘We believe in effective localized solutions against climate change. That is why we have spotlighted over 50 innovators and supported the development of 3 groundbreaking sustainable innovations, addressing crucial challenges faced by African communities.

‘These innovations focus on clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and eco-friendly technologies,’ the statement read.

The group added that its mission was to foster effective collaborations and create an enabling ecosystem that promoted eco-friendly and sustainable practices in Africa.

‘Our journey so far has been made impactful through strategic partnerships and collaborations with organizations like Creative Space Startups, ISN Hubs, Techbuild, AfriLabs, Founder Institute, Growth4Her, and more.

Collaborators include Wikimedia Anambra Network, The Nigerian Library Association (Anambra State Chapter), and Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Catholic Church,’ the group stated.
