Ogbaru Main Market traders stood still as Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu returned as chairman of the caretaker committee of Ogbaru Main Market (Relief Market) in the Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.
It would be recalled that Ochiogu was elected in 2021 as the president general of Ogbaru Main Market but was removed by the governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, on grounds of leadership crisis in the market.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that gathered to welcome Ochiogu to the office, the APGA candidate for the Ogbaru 1 state constituency for the 2023 general elections, Hon. Linus Ezenwamma, commended the governor for listening to the voice of Ogbaru Main Market traders to bring back Chief Ochiogu.
According to Ezenwamma, the good work of Chief Ochiogu during his tenure as elected chairman of the market spoke for him.
The former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly enjoined Ochiogu never to relent in his good work in the market.
In his handover speech, the immediate past chairman of the market, Chief Ogbogu Nwanodi, said he was happy to be handling over to his former boss who had done a lot for the market even with his private money.
He thanked Governor Soludo for the wise decision of bringing Chief Ochiogu back as chairman of the market and guaranteed his support for the chairman.
Chief Ochiogu in his speech commended Governor Soludo for giving him another opportunity to serve the market again. He thanked the board of trustees, patrons of the market and entire traders for the unmeasurable support and wonderful warm reception given to him and promised to do more in taking the market to greater heights.
He assured that they would continue to support the administration of Governor Soludo, promising that Ogbaru Main Market would give APGA a 100-percent vote at the forthcoming general elections in the state.
