Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has congratulated the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Maduka Okeke, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday, describing him as a pillar of faith and an exemplar of service to humanity.
In a goodwill message issued on Monday, October 20, 2025, through his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo praised Archbishop Okeke for his over two decades of transformative leadership at the helm of the Onitsha Archdiocese. He said the Archbishop has remained a “towering pillar of faith, a bastion of hope, and a quintessential embodiment of excellence, integrity, and selfless service to God and mankind.”
The Governor noted that under Archbishop Okeke’s stewardship, the Archdiocese of Onitsha has experienced tremendous growth — not only in spiritual life but also in education, healthcare, and humanitarian initiatives. He acknowledged the Archbishop’s contributions to the welfare of citizens through projects that have strengthened social development across the state.
Governor Soludo also commended the Archbishop’s continued collaboration with the Anambra State Government in promoting unity, moral renewal, and the collective pursuit of a liveable and prosperous homeland.
Extending his warm wishes, the Governor prayed for Archbishop Okeke’s long life, good health, and divine wisdom as he continues his pastoral mission of faith and service.
