A Catholic priest Rev Fr Cyril Ononye has charged christians to “Go back and practice God’s Commandments”in their jurisdictions and places of work as it is the only authentic law bestowed on humans by God.
Rev Fr Ononye gave the charge while delivering a sermon at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha while celebrating a mass last Sunday.
According to Fr Ononye,humans are known to have enacted several laws which they hardly implemented but rather do those things which do not represent the interest of the people hence the increasing suffering in the land.
He pointed out that when God handed down the Ten Commandments to Moses,it was all encompassing and intact and also enough to guide humanity and make the world a better place but that regrettably,the laws have either been twisted or misinterpreted to suit the selfish disposition of man.
Fr Ononye also laid emphasis on the need for Christians to be showing compassion to one another since according to him,compassion is the essence of true religion.
He condemned the attitude of some christians who cheat in their various places of work including traders of various commodities who inflate cost of their commodities unjustifiably adding that whoever wants to worship God and make heaven must do so in true spirit.
