The national president Laity Council of Nigeria ( CLCN) Hon. Sir Henry H. Yunkwap ( KSJI) JP last Saturday, July 7th charged the Federal government of Nigeria led by President Ahmed Tinubu to have human face by rolling out palliatives to cushion the adverse effects of fuel Subsidy that is currently inflicting hardship on Innocent masses.
Hon. Yunkwap made the call while delivering an address during the 151st National Executive Council Meeting ( NEC) of Laity Council of Nigeria held at Madonna Renewal Center Nkpor.
His words, “We must decry the prompt and unplanned removal of fuel Subsidy which has resulted In additional consequential hardship on the average Nigerians and deranged the mental state of many. The dire effect on transport and cost of living generally is Incalculable. The sad part is that salaries have remained constant while prices of goods and services have remained increased abysmally. Another such increase is 40% increase in power. Laity Council here by appealed to president Tinubu to evolve immediate palliatives to assuage the hardship which these policies have wrecked the poor. We further plead that, going forward, economic policies should be a product of careful planning with systematic execution. Nigeria belongs to all of us, both the leaders and the led. We all reserve the right to be involved in policy evolution especially of policies that affect all of us.”
