The transition committee (TC) chairman of IdemilI North LGA, Sir Chuks Brown Igboanua, has commended the Federal Road Safety Commission for its resolve to site one of its area command offices in Idemili North LGA.
On an official visit to the council headquarters at Ogidi, Igboanua commended the deputy corps commander in charge of the LGA station office in Anambra State, Mrs G. I. Omeke, for her commitment to duty.
Omeke in a remark reminded the council boss that the purpose of her visit was to brief him on the recent decision of the commission to request every state in Nigeria to create two area commands of the corps in their domain.
She said, “This will be different from the existing twelve zonal offices overseeing the sector commands with 725 unit commands, with station offices created about 3 years ago.”
Omeke stated that having deployed the instrumentality of her office as the officer in charge of the FRSC in the 21 local government areas of the state, she discovered that Idemili North was highly rated among other LGAs, judging from available statistical data and indices used in the selection.
The top FRSC official appreciated the TC chairman for granting her team audience to interact with him.
It will be recalled that the new corps marshal of the FRSC, Dauda Ali, on assumption of office early in the year decided to effect further expansion of the office by creating area commands in each of the 36 states of the federation.
