On Saturday 6th April 2024, the Parish Priest of St Enda’s Catholic Church Zaria, Rev Fr Felix Yayock charged Catholics to remain in the Church explaining that the Catholic Church is the custodian of Divine Truth.
He explained that Resurrection of Jesus cannot be altered even though it can be experienced in different ways.“The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is an ontological and a logical truth.” The priest maintained. “Jesus died, Jesus resurrected and He ascended into heaven.
The resurrection can be experienced in different forms but it is still one. Some of the disciples, like Thomas refused to believe until he put his hands in His wounds. We as Christians, we as Catholics believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true Man. Begotten not made.
Consubstantial with the Father.People have a way of rejecting certain truth. They want to decide what is true for them and what is not true for them. If other people have decided not to accept the truth of the resurrection, have you accepted it? Peter and his brethren in the 1st reading were performing miracles because they had a firsthand experience of the resurrected Christ and they were bold to preach Him before the people. Even in your house, if you believe in the power of the resurrection, God will come there. The truth is already there.
It will stand even when we die.So whatever you are looking for in this life is in the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is the place you can have the experience of the resurrected Christ. It is the Church that is closer to the primary source. If the Church is not true, it would have died a long time ago.
The Church is the custodian of the Truth of God. So remain in the truth and you will have life.”Fr Yayock prayed that God may continue to reveal the Truth in their lives, so that may boldly to talk about the truth of the resurrection as the disciples of Jesus did.
