Phil Foden, who had a tremendous season with Manchester City, scoring 27 goals and dishing out 12 assists, was named the 2023–24 PFA Player of the Year.
Foden played a key role in securing City’s fourth consecutive Premier League title and was instrumental in their run to the FIFA Club World Cup victory.
“To win this award is something very special and it is one that I am very proud of and grateful for,” Foden said in a statement thanking his teammates and coaches.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer was named the Young Player of the Year following a breakout season. Palmer scored 27 goals, with 22 in the league, and provided 15 assists, contributing significantly to Chelsea’s push for European football.
Palmer, who had few appearances for Manchester City, joined Chelsea in 2023 and became an important member of the team right away.
Both Foden and Palmer also represented England in a strong Euro 2024 campaign, with Palmer scoring in the final against Spain.
In the women’s category, Khadija “Bunny” Shaw received the PFA Player of the Year award after scoring 21 goals for Manchester City, who finished second in the Women’s Super League.
Grace Clinton was named the Young Player of the Year for her impressive performances on loan at Tottenham Hotspur.
