Ahead of Fathering Sunday and the commemoration of the Feast of St Joseph the worker, the father of Jesus Christ, the Onitsha archdiocesan president general of the Catholic Men Organisation, Sir Evarist Uba, has appealed to Catholic fathers to restrain their wards from joining various cults and engaging in idolatry worship, which is dangerously becoming popular among the youth.
According to him, the rush by young people to make quick money has misled a lot of them, and it always ends in an illusion.
Uba said that apart from the youth turning to pagans, they will turn to social misfits, criminals and undesirable elements and have their future ruined forever.
He said it is the duty of fathers to always check the behaviour and company of their children and also ensure that they are involved deeply in church activities, Masses and confessions.
The president general urged privileged members of the CMO to get involved in charity works and endeavour to buy uniforms for the less-privileged ones who wear tattered uniforms at occasions.
He wished members of the CMO a joyous Fathering Sunday.
