Joy filled the air last Sunday, June 1st, at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, as All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains and members joined APC governorship candidate for Anambra 2025, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, in a thanksgiving Mass.
The Mass, presided over by the Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, assisted by other priests, drew a large number of faithful and APC members who came to cheer their candidates on. During the Mass, Prince Ukachukwu paid homage to the Archbishop, who received him warmly.
The Rector of the Basilica Very Rev Fr JohnBosco Ezika appreciated Prince Ukachukwu and his entourage for attending the thanksgiving Mass. The APC State Chairman, Sir (Hon.) Basil Ejidike (KSM), speaking to journalists after the Mass, expressed delight over the thanksgiving, stating it was necessary to appreciate God for the huge success the party had recorded so far at the primary.
He disclosed that the mission of Anambra APC is to connect the state to the ruling party in Nigeria so that it will be favoured more in terms of getting more dividends of democracy.
According to him, if an APC governor emerges in Anambra come November election, the state will witness unprecedented transformation. “APGA-led administration has done their best, but their best is not enough for the state,” he said. “The time for change is now. We need to move away from opposition and stand with the ruling party because opposition is not helping us.”
APC chieftain and former gubernatorial aspirant, Engr. JohnBosco Onunkwo, also commended Ukachukwu for picking Sen. Ekwunife as his running mate, describing the combination as a cohesive bond that will pave the way for victory at the polls.
Onunkwo praised Ukachukwu as a man of proven integrity with the capacity to deliver and bring the change Anambrians are yearning for. He also expressed satisfaction over the choice of Senator Ekwunife as running mate, describing her as an enigma who possesses a wealth of experience for the deputy governorship position.
Another chieftain, Chief Stephen Obi Onwuachu, said the party is already coasting to victory based on the indices on the ground. He described Prince Ukachukwu as a man of wisdom who will take the state to an enviable height and charged Anambrians to have a rethink and vote wisely during the November polls.
Prince Ukachukwu, he revealed, is passionate about the development and growth of the state, urging Anambrians to give him their mandate.
