As Nigerian masses are groaning over hardship and insecurity occasioned by bad leadership, a Catholic priest of Onitsha Archdiocese Rev Fr Martin Emeli last Sunday urged Nigeria people to embrace life of truth and justice as panacea to the economic woes.
Fr Emeli who gave the advice while preaching a Sunday homily, stated that when Nigerians including our leaders embrace life of truth and justice, the monster called corruption would be conquered, good administration would be enthroned and hardship will be a thing of the past.
“We are suffering in Nigeria today because we are rejecting the word of God, thereby living a false life that promotes injustice. No nation where justice is perverted can progress because the foundation is being weakened by corruption . It is worrisome to submit that our leaders lacked the fear of God, behaving as if there is no God while the masses are suffering, gnashing their teeth, dying in hunger, misery and pains.”
He charged the leaders and the led to embrace justice and life of truth and live a good life embedded in love, charity, compassion, peace and honesty in order to enthrone an egalitarian society where everyone will have access to the wealth of the nation.
He reminded our leaders who are amassing public wealth to the detriment of the masses to have a re-think and redistribute such wealth since no one will live perpetually in the world.
Fr Emeli also charged christians to hold tenaciously on God especially now things are bad, emphasizing that abandoning God and going back to fetish practices is not the ideal solution but to multiply problems one is facing already.
