The Archbishop of Onitsha and metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical province His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke last Sunday, September 29, 2024 urged Christians to refrain from hindering the blessings destined for others.
The prelate gave the advice while preaching a Homily during his pastoral visit to Holy Trinity parish, Iba Pope Awada.
He emphasized that obstructing others’ blessings can have severe consequences, damaging relationships with God and fellow believers.
According to him, such act interfers with divine plans, since blocking others’ blessings undermines God’s sovereignty and plans for their lives.
” Jealousy and envy which may be responsible for these negative emotions can lead individuals to hinder others’ progress, ultimately harming themselves. In essence, Christians should strive to support and uplift one another, recognizing their shared spiritual goals. Blessings are not limited; God’s goodness is available to all.
As Christians, we must prioritize unity, supporting each other’s spiritual journeys. recognize God’s abundant blessings and avoid jealousy, instead rejoicing in others’ successes.”
The Archbishop further enjonied faithful to foster a supportive community, encourage fellow believers, celebrate others’ successes; rejoice in their blessings, pray for others, lift them up in prayer, reflect on motivations and ensure actions align with God’s will.
The parish priest of the parish Rev. Fr. Dr
Marcel Chukwunonye while pouring
accolades on the Archbishop over his visit, stated that his message serves as a poignant reminder to Christians to refrain from obstructing others’ blessings. He posited that by promoting unity and supporting one another, believers can create an environment where God’s goodness flows freely.
