The Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, has charged Christians not to be selfish with their wealth.
Speaking during his pastoral visit to Immaculate of Mary Parish in Fegge, Onitsha, on Sunday, September 28, 2025, Archbishop Okeke emphasized the importance of sharing one’s wealth with others.
According to him, wealth can be a gift from God, and every individual is endowed with a special gift.
“Think of others and don’t be insensitive to the plight of the poor and downtrodden,” he advised.
“Distribute your wealth, and by doing so, you are sharing the love of Christ.”
The Archbishop identified the greatest evil as manifesting a lack of love and the greatest disease as neglecting others in need.
He urged Christians to distribute love without measure or condition, emphasizing the importance of pursuing righteousness, loveliness, godliness, patience, and gentleness.
“By living this way, you are on the path of righteous life,” he said.
“Don’t be selfish, insensitive, and unrepentant.”
Archbishop Okeke’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of living a life of love and service to others.
By sharing our wealth and resources, we can promote a culture of generosity, compassion, and kindness.
