The Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU)Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha FNIPR, has inaugurated a Research Management Office Team at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
The event which was chaired by the Ag.Vice Chancellor was held at the Senate Chambers and was attended by Deans, Heads of Department, and members of the University Community.
In her address, the Acting Vice Chancellor emphasized the university’s commitment to research excellence, which led to the establishment of the Research Management Office, replacing the former Research and Innovation Office. The new team which Comprises academics and scholars, aims to expedite research advancement through interdisciplinary approaches, focusing on securing funding for innovative projects. Prof. Omenugha outlined the target sources for funding, including national research funds, TETFund, grants from various agencies, private sector partnerships, and international collaborations, with the goal of enhancing the university’s visibility and viability.
Prior to their inauguration, the Acting Vice Chancellor outlined 20 mandates for the team to fulfill. The members of the Research Management Office Team include:
