The Catholic Men Organization (CMO) St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church New Haven Ogbaru local government area, Anambra State have installed Igwe, Onowu and Igwe’s cabinets as well as celebrated New yam festival.
The event was held at their Parish premises and attracted the presence of their Parish Priest Very Rev. Fr. Vincent Onuchukwu, Parishioners amongst other dignitaries.
In his opening speech, the Parish President of CMO, Evangelist Emmanuel Nwode affirmed that Church adopted some genuine Igbo culture which he said installation of Igwe, Onowu and celebration of New yam festival are among them, soliciting the invited guests to assist the organization with funds.
Installing the Igwe and Onowu of CMO St. Francis of Assisi, Igwe CMO of Holy Trinity parish Awada, His Royal Highness, Igwe Augusius Nwachukwu who performed the ritual disclosed that Igbo culture is fast diminishing, saying that there is need to be re-activated so that it would not die completely.
In his acceptance speech, the Igwe elect, His Royal Highness Igwe Innocent Ufondu eulogized CMO members for electing him, saying that it would afford him more opportunity to serve God in spirit and truth.
Commending the event, the Onowu elect, Onowu Ifeanyichukwu E. S. Nnajiaku (Ksm) described the event as away of drawing Souls to Jesus Christ and a strategy to bring men more closer to Church as well as uplifting the Igbo cultural heritage.
