Report monitored from the Anambra State capital Awka, said the newly constructed Government House and Governor’s Lodge in Awka is set to commence operations after a solemn blessing ceremony conducted by a gathering of Catholic Bishops in the state.
The brief but solemn event marked the official readiness of the state’s governmental facilities to serve the people of the state.
The ceremonial blessing was presided over by the Archbishop of Onitsha and the Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke who underscored the importance of the new facilities as not only a physical infrastructure upgrade but also a symbol of hope and progress for the state.
During the ceremony, the bishops including Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, Most Rev. Dennis Isizo, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye invoked divine guidance for the governor and other officials who will govern from the new site.
Speaking to the media, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, stated that the facility is ready, expressed gratitude for the support of the Church and emphasized the government’s commitment to serving the citizens effectively.
The new Government House features modern amenities and is designed to enhance both the operational efficiency of the government and the comfort of those it serves.
As the new Government House prepares to officially open its doors, Anambra citizens eagerly anticipate the positive changes that may arise from this new chapter in state governance.
The bishops also toured the Solution fun city project and blessed it as well.
