As the first bishop of the Aguleri Diocese, the Most Rev. Denis Chidi Isizoh, braces up for the challenges ahead after being recently installed, the catechists in his diocese have been advised to show commitment to duty and work loyally with him. The advice was given by the president of the catechists in the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, Mr Peter Eze, who spoke to newsmen at Bishop Isizoh’s installation.
Eze in the interview reminded catechists in the new diocese of the need to show commitment to duty, diligence, respect and faithfulness to their chosen religious vocation, pointing out that a servant of God must not be greedy or envious of other people’s positions. He described Bishop lsizoh as a friend of catechists in the state, hinting that the bishop has been an advocate for the improved welfare of catechists in the Catholic community.
Commenting on the just concluded February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections, Eze lamented the irregularities, which resulted in an alleged rigging, and pleaded for justice in the matter. In his words, all Nigerians are one and in the spirit of one Nigeria, no one should be discriminated. He however called on Nigerians to be law-abiding and avoid those things capable of throwing the country into political chaos.
