Nigerian musician, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, emerged as the winner of the prestigious ‘Best International Act’ category at the recently held BET Awards.
The ceremony took place on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, United States. Although Burna Boy was not physically present at the event, his talent and artistry prevailed as he triumphed over renowned artists such as Aya Nakamura from France, Ella Mai and Stormzy from the UK, Central Cee, and fellow Nigerian artist Ayra Starr to secure the award.
This achievement solidifies Burna Boy’s exceptional standing in the BET Awards history, as he now holds the record for the most wins in the “Best International Act” category, with a remarkable total of four victories. He has consistently received this accolade for three consecutive years, starting from 2019, 2020, and now in 2023.
