Former Minister of Education, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, has accused the immediate-past President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, of benefitting from the proceeds of crime perpetrated by the former Presiding Court of Appeals President, Zainab Bulkachuwa, and her spouse, Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa.
Dr. Ezekwesili made the accusation in a tweet on her Twitter handle, @obyezeks, on Wednesday.
It’s been reported that Senator Bulkachuwa, in a trending video gone viral, confessed that he influenced her wife while she was the appeal court president, to give judgement in favour of his politician friends in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Bulkachuwa said: “I must thank my wife, whose freedom and independence I encroached upon while she was in office. She has been very tolerant, accepted my encroachment, and extended her help to my colleagues.”
According to Ezekwesili, however, taking into cognizance the way Lawan frantically tried to gag him from revealing more, he (Lawan) “was one of the Beneficiaries of the “encroachment of a Presiding Court of Appeals President” by her Senator-Spouse”.
