All the branches of SS John and Paul lba Pope Awada Parish of the block Rosary Crusaders led by Bro. Chinedu Ekweogu over the weekend converged at the Parish premises where they held their 2023 annual celebration with fanfare and high degree of enthusiasm. The event which was attended by the Patrons and Patronesses of the Parish block Rosary crusaders featured many entertaining activities such as debate, cultural dance, welcome song amongst others.
In the address of welcome they presented at the ceremony which was well organised by Bro. Kingsley Ezeudu and his lieutenants, the Parish block Rosary crusaders listed the various efforts they have been making in human capital training of which many reasonable people in our society today such as Priests, Reverend Sisters and brothers, monks and Nuns, as well as dignitaries in other human endeavours have passed through block Rosary organisation as an essential platform of socialization in the catholic faith.
The address also showed that the block Rosary organisation has numerous works to do in our society as explained by the Parish chaplain of the B.R.C. , Rev. Fr. Valentine Obiagwu and they therefore appealed to public spirited individuals to come to their aid financially to enable them purchase some incentives needed for effective operation of the organisation. They however commended the understanding of some parents who encourage their children’s participation in block Rosary activities while rebuking other parents and guardians who discourage their children from active participating in block Rosary affairs. The regional President of the block Rosary organisation lba Pope Parish, Bro. Hypolite passionately appealed to well-meaning individuals especially from catholic church to come to the aid of the BRC organisation in view of the numerous challenges facing it particularly in the riverine areas of the state. He also expressed the desire for Nigerians to train their children in the ways of God for the betterment of our society and themselves.
In their respective speeches, some of the leaders of the block Rosary Crusade namely the President of the BRC, Bro. Chinedu Ekweogu and the chairman of the planning committee for the 2023 BRC celebration, Bro. Kingsley Ezeudu commended the efforts of the chaplain of the block Rosary organisation of the Parish, Rev. Fr Valentine Obiagwu towards the progress and growth of the organisation. They also commended the efforts of the parents, patrons and patronesses of the Parish block Rosary Crusade especially that of Chief Sir Godwin Udeh who has been showing untiring spirit in supporting the activities of the BRC affairs.
Highpoint of the occasion was the announcement of the result of the quiz, match past and choir competition by the chaplain of the B.R.C organisation, Fr. Valentine Obiagwu. The results of the competition announced showed that the block Rosary groups from different locations of the Parish performed excellenctly well according to the criterion used for the evaluation of the events.
