Activities marking the 25th anniversary of the Blessed Iwene Tansi Seminary,Onitsha expected to hold in November 2025 has started.
On that note, stakeholders of the seminary converged on the institution on Sunday,22nd June 2025 to set agenda for the event.
It all started with a Holy Mass presided over by Rev Monsignor Theophilus Odukwe who was assisted by the Rector of the Seminary, Rev Fr Fabian Obi and other priests.
In his remarks after the Mass,the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District,Chief Victor Umeh who was the chairman of the ocassion called on benefactors, stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to support efforts of the church for the upgrade of facilities at seminary.
Senator Umeh extolled the Rector of the Seminary,Rev Fr Dr Fabian Obi and the management team of the school for the good work they were doing in the seminary.
He also praised the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha under the leadership of Archbishop Valerian Okeke for creating enabling environment and resources for proper discernment and training of individuals who would eventually become priests.He charged the seminarians to maximize the opportunity of being members of such great citadel of learning,to enrich themselves both spiritually,morally and academically.
Earlier in his remark,the Rector of the seminary,Rev Fr Fabian Obi extolled Senator Umeh for his humanitarian gestures and continued support for the church.Fr Obi also extended his gratitude to other dignitaries who attended the event to make it a success.
