The Bishop of the Catholic diocese of Zaria, Most Rev Dr. Habila Tyiakonaboi Daboh has lauded members of Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Nigeria (CCRN), of his diocese for engaging in primary evangelization, especially, as it relates to focusing on the rural communities within the diocese. He also praised them for remaining committed to just course, promising to support and to journey with them.
Presiding over the Votive Mass for the group’s 2026 Prayer Camp, themed ‘Intimacy with the Father’ which took place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pastoral Centre, Graceland, Zaria, between Monday 9 and Sunday, 15 February, 2026, the bishop expressed great joy over the large number of participants, who were conveyed from various rural parishes within the diocese, to take part in the prayer camp, courtesy of the good will of the charismatics. He prayed God to bless and reward the facilitators, imploring the recipients to make the most of the opportunity.
“You are carrying out primary evangelization.” His Lordship praised them. “I am happy to be here this evening and to see great number of our people coming from the villages. I am happy to have my people here. It gives me a lot of joy. It means that the Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria, Zaria diocese is doing an amazing work. This is called evangelization.”
“The efforts you are making, the journeys you are embarking on, going to these people and encouraging them to come together, to worship God, to adore God, and to accept Him as their Saviour is amazing. And as you are doing this, God will continue to bless each and every one of you. You are evangelizers.”
“I also seek your encouragement as I will be making effort to improve on your welfare, as you come here every year. The doors are open. Come to me, let us discuss how we can improve the worship, the program you always do here every year. And I know, God is going to do it for us, because you are committed.”
“You are people I can trust. You are people I can rely on, because I know that you are committed. And I am sure that working with you, will make us to grow in the Diocese of Zaria. And so, my CCRN Zaria Chapter, I want to assure you that we are together. We will go places together. God will bless us together. You are not alone. Your bishop is with you.”
Bishop Daboh reminded them of the shortness of life, charging them to seize the opportunity to be alive to take stock of their lives, “God is calling you. God is inviting you tonight. Do not think you can still live longer. Do not think you have time. God alone has the summary of our lives. Start now. Do not wait. If you do not do it now, it may be late for you.” He stressed.
