The Rector of the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha,Rev Fr JohnBosco Ezika has inaugurated a new executive of the Laity Council,Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Parish,Onitsha.
He congratulated and charged them to exercise their mandate with commitment, obedience and above all the fear of God..
The Rector enjoined other parishioners to cooperate with the new executive and support them on their onerous task of representing them in the service of the Lord.He commended the new executive for demonstrating willingness to serve and devote their time,talent and other resources for the work of God.
The members of the executive inaugurated are,Mrs Ngozi Utazi(President),Bro Celestine Okpalanwa(Vice President),Bro Mike Etuokwu(Secretary)and Sis.Ifeoma Onwuatudo(Asst Secretary).
Others are,Sis.Nkechi Ekwealor(Asst Secretary),Bro Arinze Emechebe(Treasurer)Bro Paul Ifeatu(PRO),Sis.Chika Ezeh(Provost 1)and Bro Orji Christonogus(Provost 11).
While making an observation,the Rector warned Basilica parishioners who indulge in dressing indecently to desist from it.He pointed out that such indecent dressings are always observed during weddings and other ocassions taking place around the Basilica.He further warned that he would be compelled to drive away any person found dressed indecently inside or within the Basilica precincts as it is a holy place of worship that should not be open to distractions.
Earlier in his homily titled,”God needs you”,Rev Basil Ezejiofor reflected on Jesus’ mandate to all faithful to be missionaries and spread the Gospel anywhere they find themselves.
According to him,all faithful are called to bear witness to Christ by doing His Will.He pointed out that if missionary work must succeed,all involved must cooperate with one another and not operate in different directions.
