Mothers have been urged to be role models to their families and to the society and as well remain committed to their primary assignments as mothers .
The president General CWO Most Holy Name of Mary parish Abatete Mrs Nneka Ugonwafor made the call during their 2024 August meeting held at the parish.
According to her, some mothers are no longer taking charge of their children, thereby leaving their wards to go astray, embracing paganism practice and idolatry .” It is time mothers and fathers should unite to save our children from worshipping false gods in their quest to make money”. Reflecting on the theme of their meeting ‘ Motherhood a selfless sacrifice to the family and to the society ‘ she advised mothers not to relent in carrying out their responsibilities of training their children to become responsible people who will transform our society, adding that when our children are not trained well, the society will suffer it in the future.
The president thanked her CWO parish members for returning enmas for the meeting and for their full participation and support, asking God to bless them abundantly.
She further thanked their parish priest Fr Ernest Esikaikwu for his great support to the parish CWO, describing him as a dynamic and resourceful priest who is committed to his duties.
Also, the CWO parish secretary Mrs Phina Ndulue in her contribution enjoined fathers to assist mothers in training their children, pointing out that in some families, fathers don’t show much interest in training their children. She also emphasized that training of young ones should be responsibility of every adult, stating that when you see someone’s child misbehaving, help to caution that child.
She advised mothers not to help in corrupting their children by putting on indecent dressing very common in our society today. “Mothers should shun indecent dressing as that is one of the major factors responsible for the moral decay in our society today”, she explained.
