Christians have been reminded to live a life of holiness, being mindful of their status as temples of the Holy Spirit. Rev. Fr. Pius Ejiofor, a priest of Onitsha Archdiocese, made this charge while preaching a Sunday homily.
Fr. Ejiofor emphasized that every Christian is a temple of the Holy Spirit and, by virtue of this, living a holy life is not optional. He explained that a life of holiness can be achieved through loving one another, being a crusader of peace, and reconciling with one another unconditionally.
“Don’t wait until your enemies repent of their evil ways before you can forgive them,” he advised. “Also, you cannot claim to love God when you hate the person next to you. Love is the language the entire world can understand easily without interpreters. In essence, champion love to make the world a better place.”
Fr. Ejiofor lamented that the lack of love is greatly responsible for the high rate of evil in society today. He urged Christians to prioritize love and forgiveness, emphasizing that these values are essential for creating a more harmonious and peaceful world.
The priest’s message serves as a reminder to Christians to reflect on their relationship with God and with one another. By embracing a life of holiness and prioritizing love, Christians can be beacons of hope and peace in a world plagued by conflict and division.
