It was a final goodbye to the late Rev. Fr Paul Nwakor as priests of the Onitsha archdiocesan presbyterium led by the metropolitan archbishop of Onitsha, the Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, the new bishop of the Aguleri Diocese, the Most Rev. Denis Isizoh, members of the religious, relatives, friends and well wishers gathered for his burial Mass and interment at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, on Tuesday, 28th March 2023.
Immediately after the Mass, the remains of Father Nwakor were lowered into the grave at the basilica cemetery by the archbishop, thus bringing to an end Nwakor’s earthly journey at the age of 62.
A homily by Rev. Fr Charles Ohaka enumerated the achievements, humble nature and selflessness of the late priest when he served in various parishes in the archdiocese especially St Charles Borromeo Parish, Onitsha. Father Ohaka commended the charitable spirit of Nwakor and his strict disposition to the Catholic Church’s doctrine.
Rev. Fr Oaul Nwakor hailed from Isuochi, Abia State. Until his death on 10th February 2023, he was the parish priest of Our Lady of Victory Parish, Umuleri.
