The Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR), following the governor’s courtesy visit to the permanent site of Shanahan University, Onitsha.
Governor Soludo, during his visit, inspected ongoing construction and development at the site, offering words of encouragement and reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening education in the state. The governor’s presence was warmly received by the Archbishop and members of the university planning team, who noted that the visit signified strong government-church collaboration in delivering quality tertiary education to the people of Anambra.
In a statement shared via his official social media page, Archbishop Okeke said: “We thank the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo (CFR), for his courtesy visit to the Permanent Site of our Shanahan University, Onitsha. He visited principally to see how work is going on at the site.”
The Archbishop emphasized that the project represents a shared vision for excellence in education and the nurturing of future leaders. “We continue to pray for our state, all our sponsors, and the good people of Anambra. As we work towards making our state the best in education and creating a favourable academic environment for our children, we pray for God’s enabling grace with good health of mind and body.”
Shanahan University, which commenced academic activities this year, has already consolidated itself as one of the fastest growing universities in the country. It’s anchor on quality education and immense character growth has attracted
students from various parts of the country to study in the institution. From the next academic year, the university will commence the studying of Medicine and Surgery, Law, among other professional courses.
