In a remarkable display of ingenuity and innovation, Archbishop Heerey Technical College (AHTC), Ogidi, has been crowned African champions in the Africa Regional Challenge of the prestigious World Affairs Challenge.
The competition brought together teams from across the continent to develop and present groundbreaking solutions to pressing issues affecting Africa and the world. Through a combination of a compelling pitch video submission and a rigorous Q&A session, the team from Archbishop Heerey Technical College secured the top position in both Nigeria and Africa. Their winning innovation addresses two critical challenges in Nigeria: the energy crisis and plastic waste pollution.
This outstanding achievement has earned Archbishop Heerey Technical College a place in the global championship, set to take place in the United States in March 2025.
