Chief Muofunanya Peter Ikechukwu has emerged as the APGA candidate for Onitsha South Local Government Area (LGA) chairmanship. The primary election took place as Anambra State Government prepares to conduct elections for new local government chairmen and councilors, billed to take place in August 2026
Muofunanya, popularly known as Ezeoba, described the process that led to his emergence as “free and fair” in an interview with Trinitas correspondent. He expressed confidence that his candidature will bring victory to the party.
“I was born and raised in Onitsha South, and I’ve been a staunch APGA faithful for years,” Muofunanya said. “I know what the people of this council area need most at this point in time, and I’m committed to delivering.”
He pledged to reposition Onitsha South LGA and bring more dividends of democracy to the people if elected. Muofunanya also commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts in providing security and transforming education and other sectors in the state, pledging to support the governor’s vision if elected.
