The All Hallows Seminary Onitsha has continued to showcase excellence in academics even as it is making exploits in other endeavours.
Rector of the Seminary Very Rev Fr Paschal Okonkwo while making remarks at the inauguration of the 2923/2024 Academic) Formation Year,last Saturday,disclosed with joy to the parents and guardians who turned out in their numbers said that the 67 students fielded in the Latin Certificate examination passed with distinction.
According to Fr Okonkwo,31 of the students got A1,34 got B2 and 2 got B3.There was no pass nor failure according to the Rector.
The Rector further disclosed that the 2023 WASSCE result has been released and that the seminary scored 100 percent.
According to him,the seminary registered 43 candidates in WASSCE and 13 of them got distinctions in all their 9 subjects.He said that NECO and BECE results were yet to be released and expressed optimism that his students will as usual score excellent results.
On another note,the Rector recalled with joy that Anambra state Debate team won the 1st position in 2022 Presidential Debate.He pointed out that Anambra Debate team was made up of 4 debaters of which two were seminarians of All Hallows Seminary.The team he said participated in the international Inter school debate competition at Malaysia and won.
He further disclosed that in the last edition of the Archbishop Valerian Okeke Science Competition (AVOSCO),the seminary took 3rd position in the junior category adding that excellence in character and learning is the hallmark of All Hallows Seminary,Onitsha in line with the set goals and objectives of the proprietor, Archbishop Valerian Okeke.
