Miss Ani Anthonia has emerged as the 2025 best secondary school mathematician in Nnobi, winning the third edition of the Sir Pius Ufudo Foundation’s annual Nnobi Secondary Schools mathematics quiz competition.
The finale was held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Sir Pius Ufudo complex located inside St. Theresa’s Parish, Nnobi
The event was graced by respected dignitaries, including HRH Igwe Nick Obi of Nnobi, Member representing Idemmili North and South Federal Constituency Hon. Uche Harris Okonkwo (represented by another), Member representing Idemmili South constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly Hon. Ebuka Igwe, and Chairman of Idemmili South LGA, Mrs. Amaka Obi, among others.






At the end of the event, Miss Ani Anthonia, a student of Seat of Wisdom Comprehensive Secondary School Nnobi, won the prize of N1.5 million to cover her university fees till graduation. Seat of Wisdom Comprehensive Secondary School, which emerged first, was rewarded with N500,000 and a laptop. Zion Secondary School Nnobi, which came second, received N300,000. Our Lady’s Secondary School Nnobi and Madonna International Academy, which took third position, each received N200,000.The three students representing Seat of Wisdom Comprehensive Secondary School that won the competition also bagged a one-year scholarship award. Other participating schools received consolation prizes of N50,000 each. BB
The chairman of the Foundation, Chief Obinna Ufudo, noted that while it is the duty of government to provide education and make it affordable, the Foundation finds ways to support and encourage school children in Nnobi. He explained that the annual quiz competition is an ongoing mission to instil a culture of excellence in students.The Foundation also organizes computer training classes every long vacation for young kids in Nnobi. Chief Ufudo mentioned that the Foundation also focused on the areas of healthcare, having registered over 500 people in Nnobi in the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme for free.
The Executive Chairman of Idemmili South LGA, Mrs. Amaka Obi, praised Chief Ufudo for his contributions to the society, describing him as an illustrious son of the town who is giving back. The traditional ruler of the town, HRH Igwe Nick Obi, eulogized Chief Ufudo for his large heart to his town, stating that he is building a legacy that will stand the test of time.
Other dignitaries, including Hon. Barr. Ebuka Igwe, Hon. Francis Nwankwo, and Mr. Emeka Okwelume, extolled the Foundation for transforming the town, especially in education and health.
